emr454 1
Hey guys. I've got a small problem with my Saiga. I got a lower handguard retainer from K-var and the Tapco Galil style handguard. I cut the retainer open and slipped it over the barrel and now have to put a bolt through it to hold it and the handguard tight to the barrel. The only problem I have is that I can't find a small enough bolt to go through the hole in the retainer. The hole in the retainer is positioned so that the barrel is in the way of any bolt I try to put through it. They almost fit but not quite. I guess what I am asking is has anyone else done it this way and what size bolt did you use? Or did you secure it another way and if so, how? Thanks in advance for your help. Eric <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cut a small groove on top of the barrel with a round needle file. See file attachment.
emr454 1
Cool. I was thinking of doing that but I didnt want to compromise the strength of the barrel, even though it's only a small notch. Thanks 2nd! Eric
