6500rpm 670
For what ever reason I'm thinking hard about getting either a new Hawk 982 (870 clone) or a used Remington 870 if I can find a deal on one at a pawn shop. The only pump I have is a Browning (that I'm not going to bubba) so I don't know a lot about the 870 other than it's reputation. I'd like some feedback on what items to look at in terms of wear, and or, what models to look for. For a lack of better terms, this is going to be another project gun involving replacing furnature, adding sights vs rib, extended tube and shortened barrel. I'm looking on tips for a base gun to use and what problem areas to look at when fondling at the shop before I buy. Thanks.
6500rpm 670
Never mind-My city just traded in all it's 870's. I got lucky and picked up a 870 Police Magnum with the extended tube in great shape-not going to be much of a project after all. After breaking it down at home, there's really nothing to it.
