Gas Block and FSB pins

Recommended Posts

I have installe my lower hand guard retainer, gas block, and FSB. The new gas block and the FSB have not been drilled all the way through for the retaining pin. What do I do here? Also the AK-74 cleaning rod is too long and doesn't screw into my barrel brush, so I guess I'm supposed to order a AK-47 cleaning rod?

The saiga's pins are substantially longer than the regular ones. Why? The stock handguard actually slides over the pins for support.

If your FSB didn't come with new pins, you could either try to find the correct diameter at Ace Hardware/etc.. or just reuse the saiga's and cut them.

I still have the problem of no holes in my FSB and GAS Block. I could just drill them but I assume they are tapered considering you can only remove the original pins from one direction. I can buy the correct pins from K-Var but am back to the problem of drilling holes for them to fit.

Damn. I kept asking this about a 2 months ago and nobody had any input. Now all the diamaters and drill bit sizes are flowing. Oh well I figured something out. I used the Bulgarian pins from K-Var and used a 1/8 inch bit. WOW. I really had to bang them in. Very tight fit. But my Front hand guards, gas block and threaded Bulagarian FSB are on!!!! Now all I need is the compensator to show up.

It looks bad ass now. Watch out. :super:

Pictures at some point.
