.308 magazine quality?

Well you have to decide on whats more important weight or construction. The steel wont ever break when dropped loaded but its heavier and if you are carrying 8 mags it matters. The composite also are a bit smaller with no sharpish corners so as long as rounds feed.

I own a few poly mags myself as there are advantages with both materials. That I'm aware of none of the poly/composites for the S.308 have metal reinforcements, however I can't recall anyone breaking one yet.

Just for reference:

Factory 8 round = 5 oz (empty)

Factory 8 round with steel internals = 6 oz (empty)

Surefire 25 round = 7.5 oz (empty)

Csspecs 20 round = 15 oz (empty)

Csspecs 10 round = 11.5 oz (empty)

Csspecs 5 round = 10 oz (empty)

Box of 20rds brown bear .308 ammo = 17 oz.
