GregM1 241 Posted August 18, 2010 Report Share Posted August 18, 2010 i have a 20" and i prefer it for the 223 round. it was originally designed as a round for a 20" barrel. Current combat scenarios are showing it lacks effectiveness out of the shorter barrels at longer distances. I am not talking about 500+ yards either. 555JM 10 Posted August 26, 2010 Report Share Posted August 26, 2010 If you're planning to hunt with it, get the 20" barrel. Functional accuracy will be the luck of the draw, but you'll have at least another 150 fps on tap at the muzzle. This will help with practical accuracy at range because the gun will be flatter shooting. Also, the gun should be slightly quieter and generate less muzzle flash.
