facepull 3
is it wise to store houndreds of loose rounds in a ammo container like a 50cal ammo box or cabelas plastic storage box?
chevyman097 2,579
I prefer the metal ammo cans. I dont see why it would hurt anything. If they will be stored for a long time you can throw some desiccant in with em.

cpg 0
Empty plastic peanut butter jars work real well for me. Yeah, add the desiccant for long term storage.
Gunfanatic 221
Anything that is fairly air tight will work. Just throw a little desiccant in there to keep things dry.
imarangemaster 315
50 cal size metal ammo cans with a desiccant pack. Air tight and will last forever. I store ALL my ammo (except 22LR) in ammo cans: 44 Mag, 9MM, 223, 30 carbine, and 12 GA shotgun. That reminds me, I need to ge another 30 cal can for my 22. I keep forgetting. mgconnor13 206
I put my stuff in ammo cans. Could always vacuum seal it
echoside190 127
I keep all my ammo in a .50 cal ammo can with a Rem Dri desiccant pack, its worked well for me for over a year now. Haven't tried the Cabela's plastic ammo cans, but a few people I've talked to about them say they're better for keeping moisture out than steel ones.
