DRUM MAG! Is there such a thing for the 5.45? Toying with the idea of making one somehow if they are non-existent. I imagine there's a way to mod a 7.62x39 magazine but is the mag's curvature too different?

... there are prototypes of the quad stack?

What's a "quad-stack?" It involves 4 magazones, I pressume? Lol.

The drum mag is almost the price of the rifle. Absolutely WAY too much for a drum mag.

The quad stack is just that, a magazine with four rounds across it instead of the standard two (double stack) magazines. They hold 60 rounds. The last one I saw for sale was on gunbroker. The bidding went up to NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS, and didn't meet the reserve.

I guess you guys missed the thread about MDArms' upcoming quad stack x39 and 5.45 mags, which Mike D. promised would be very affordable.

Yeah, the reason the price is so high is because there's like less than 10 of the original Soviet ones in the US.

Ahh, so in reality it'd end up being more of collectors item as opposed to something you'd actually use. I'd be pissed breaking a $900 mag.

AFAIK those mags were developed along with the AN-94 rifle but I've never heard of them actually being used in service. I'm kind of surprised there are any in the US at all.
