We'll have to see what he answers me about the Saiga 7.62x39 magazines. I asked what country the magazines are from and whether they are specifically made for Saiga rifles.

Message from seller:

"These are new Euro. mags that have been modified in the US to fit the Saiga Rifle. They meet all BATF regulations. these mags are individually fitted and test fired before being shipped.

Monomonk

Same things as on Gunbroker, they are Romanian AK mags that have been converted for a Saiga.

Modded Romanian mags, legal only on modified Saigas.

To bad he doesn't say how he mod'ed them (brazing, welding, using a screw for a feedramp, or ducktape). The kicker here is the price, he shows that SHIPPING is $25 per ITEM, add that to the cost he's charge for each mag.. $35.

$60 per converted mag is rather step!

Well, the one on gunbroker only wanted 4.50 per mag to ship, so thats not too bad at all... but yeah... the one on gunsamerica... FUCK THAT! thats more than the mag is worth modded!

I haven't gotten a response yet to the country of origin for the magazines. If these are converted mags then you need US made parts in your rifle. I'm planning to change my Saiga to have US made parts so I can modify it without breaking any of these idiotic laws. In the meantime, I paid $45 for a 30 round hi-cap Saiga mag. It's expensive but for one magazine but a lot cheaper than a lawyer and having the BATFE after you.

You can modify ANY AK mag to work in your saiga and feed 100%

it is so easy i don't see why people on here don't listen to me

I have about 10 modifyed AK magz for my saiga and they all work great with no mod's on your gun at all!!

All you do is file down the lip on the mag untill it is flush with the flower

then round the middle edges and your done it takes 5 minutes

come on people use your heads

Lithium... can you post pics of the front and top of the modified mag. (side-by-side with an unmodified mag. for perspective). I'd like to see exactly what you've done to avoid the trial and error method of fine tuning the mod.

Thanks

I have Chinese, Bulgarian and E. German 30 round steel mags that fit and function in my AK47 and all 10 of them work in my Saiga as well with no problem. All i did was to install a feed ramp and very lightly file (@ 10 strokes) the under side of the lug on the backside of the mag.

yep. that little feed ramp is easy to make and install and will save you much frustration and a lot of money too. you can get an AK mag for what...like 8 dollars. you just cant beet that!
