Cobra 76 two 2,677
Hello Mike, welcome to the forum. I don't have a Tromix dust cover rail to match up here, but looking at it I'm guessing they should be very close to the same height. I can post some more pictures of the one I put on Slug-O's S-17 if that helps any. In fact he is in Jacksonville Fla so maybe you guys could even hook up and you could check his out up close. I'll see if I can find his thread he put up on his build. If not I'll post some pics I saved. Here are a few anyway...

Nailbomb 10,221
there is a height difference. I don't know how well the troy sights will be able to compensate. maybe if you ground down the front sight post it would work? Tom cole made a rail for a dust cover that allowed use of AR sights. Maybe you could ask him where he got that?
grommit666 24
The dust cover tends to move around some on my Saiga. It seems like with the rear sight attached to it, it would tend to lose zero. Do you find that with Slug-O?

Nailbomb 10,221
theres tricks to tightening up the dust cover. like that little bead right above the safety lever? that is one of them. I've seen people bend and tweek them to fit tighter, and i've even seen nuts welded on and alan bolts employed to keep tension on.
Wagnikov 186
Here's what I did. Tig welded under the tab, and build a taper into the bottom of dust cover retainer. Locks it down and self tightening. To hold the windage you have to smash the dust cover narrower, so it's a press fit on sides of receiver.
