I just picked up an Astra Constable 1 from the gun show and was curious if anyone has a Blue Book and could give me a good value.

I've got an older Gun Trader Guide here in front of me that's about 5 years old. In Stainless they list for $187 in good condition to $344 new in box. Blued they are $160 to $294 and Chromed they go for $170 to $313. It says that they were imported from 1965 to 1992. It's to my understanding that after the demise of Llama a couple of years back there are no more Spanish Manufacturers of handguns (including Astra which after consolidating with Star finally went under in the late 90's). This makes these types of Spanish manufacture handguns somewhat collectible. Some of their older (1950's - 1960's )models like the 800 Condor pistols for example list in excess of $1400 and the Model 3003 pocket auto lists for around $1000.

My buddy inherited an Astra Cub and eight other guns, his father never taught him how to shoot and never even talked about guns. I taught him and his wife how to shoot, now they're both really into it.

My constable is a fun "little" firearm I keep in my sock drawer. Its the older constable but from what I have been told I have a diamond in the rough especially since it is .22LR. It looks almost identical to the PPK. I ordered some new magazines and grips. Being that these are no longer being made finding those parts was a headache.
