tarheeler 0
I just recieved my drum and have a newbie question. Do you take out the dummy round or leave it in and load on top of it?

csspecs 1,987
The "dummy round" is the follower in that magazine design. It pushes the final rounds into the gun before being retained in the tower of the mag. Pretty slick actually... And yes it stays in the mag full time.
tarheeler 0
Thank's guys, I know it's a stupid question, but better safe than sorry.
msrdiver 42
I had no problems shooting 8 shot on the factory setting. I adjusted the spring tension to the sport load and had all sorts of fail to feed problems. The failure to feed occurred on my 1 oz buckshot loads and with Remington/Federal 1 1/8oz 8 shot shells. Basically, leave the spring tension alone unless you experience problems.
Stansplace 414
Thank's guys, I know it's a stupid question, but better safe than sorry. There are no stupid questions here. It is better safe than sorry when a firearm is involved. You weren't born with the knowledge.

You weren't born with the knowledge. Great reply! We don't know what we don't know, so it's always good to ask. I just got my MD20 yesterday, and after reading the instructions, I had the same question. I just went ahead and loaded it up and all 20 rounds fit in, so I made the assumption that the 'dummy round' was to remain.
