Lcpl Martin 4
So I finally got sick of looking at the Galil magazines I had purchased a few months ago and my bullet guide. I kept meaning to take it out to the family farm and use the drill press on it but I kept putting it off. Sitting on my reloading bench with a 19 dollar Black and Decker drill and a pair of pliers, 5 minutes later bullet guide was in! The tapco galil magazine works great but the metal surplus magazines i have don't feed reliably, they seem to feed the bullet at too steep of an angle and it gets jammed. Super happy with it, plan on buying 4 or 5 more tapco galil magazines today. Another nice thing about the tapco magazines is that they are the small when compared to most AK style magazines and fit the ar-15 pouches very nicely. sepherus 0
Just out of curiosity are your Galil mags steel or Orlite? I've heard some reliability issues from both, but never both from the same rifle. I'm glad to hear it is easy though. Makes me hopeful for my own experience in a week or 2. Lcpl Martin 4
I tried the steel 35 round surplus ones and the 30 round tapco. The steel surplus is not reliable, it like to feed at too great of an angle and jam (gonna work on fixing that soon) However the Tapco magazines work like a dream! sepherus 0
My steels don't even have enough of an angle to enter the chamber on their own. When I put a test shim on the mag that fit like the stock, it fed perfect. I'm hoping the BG will do the same.
