22_Shooter 1,560
I know the DIY was designed to work with the SAW grip. I've read numerous times that any other standard AK grip requires modifications if you want to mount them on the DIY. Well now that I got the PG nut threads fixed (started a thread here about a little while back)........I tried to put an Izhmash factory PG on it. The only thing I noticed was that the the standard AK grip screw was a hair too long and would bottom out before the grip actually tightened up to the DIY. Otherwise, everything seems to line up just fine when I push the grip up to where it would be if I could tighten it all the way. So a simple hack job on the grip screw, and it seems like I'd be good to go. Am I missing anything? Maybe I just assumed that there was more involved when I would read "needs mods to work" when speaking of standard AK grips and the DIY.
