imarangemaster 315
9-2009: round, dimples, no chamber step, threaded muzzle, and retainer grooves on sides of barrel.
RoughRider666 47
I'm on my 8th Saiga conversion now and all have been 08 & 09 rifles and I've only ever seen maybe 1 or 2 round trunnion guns. All the rest have been flat. its a conspiracy I tell ya! lol
woodyp 2
04-11 Round. My question is.........why would they make the trunions two different ways? Correction: Mine has 09 stamped on right side of it's dimpled receiver. How do you tell the month? Edited December 14, 2011 by woodyp
Sweetums 5
Just converted mine that I picked up last Sunday. Manufacture date was 6/11, flat trunnion. Installation was a bit of a bi**h, I had to file a considerable amount off the sides to make it fit.
JoeAK 337
Gun says '09, papers say 4/30/09. Flat, no chamber step, dimples, and grooves on the barrel. Not sure if the barrel is threaded.
Sim_Player 1,939
Mine is a 09, round trunnion, dimples, and I can see threads under the shroud.

JoeAK 337
pg hole Forgot to mention that. Mine also had the PG hole pre-cut.
Tram 11
Two 09's.. Both dimpled and barrel notched. One has a round trunion and one is round. Can't tell if we see threads or not. Round trunion looks like it may have threads moreso than the flat.
BarkingSpider 0
Just cut the tips on both of mine-The one I got in 09 is round with threads and the one I just got this week is flat with no threads-Both serial #s are H09.Its all good-Have a mig welder at work. rocketfoot 29
Is it bad to have a screwed bullet guide? I put a screwdriver to it and it seems to be loctited pretty well... Edited February 6, 2012 by rocketfoot
mattny 2
Is it bad to have a screwed bullet guide? I put a screwdriver to it and it seems to be loctited pretty well... mattny 2
It looks like the finish may have been rubbed off from contacting the case.Or is it from when you checked it with the screwdrriver?I guess a test fire is in order. rocketfoot 29
It seemed to chamber fine...no hang ups or anything, but I'll have to wait to hit the range to see how she handles semi auto fire.
mattny 2
If it hand cycles fine I would guess you are good to go.
nsnate02 32
I've done about 5 over the last 4 years and all of them have been round and dimpled with the exception of the one I picked up last week. It was the IZH-332 with the front end already converted. No dimples, chamber step, and flat trunnion. It was made in '08. I guess they have some old undimpled receivers leftover.
