SaigaShooter 0
So I just finished my conversion, but the bolt carrier catches on the hammer if you guide it forward. It's not a big problem, as it dosen't happen when you pull the bolt back and let it fly forward or when firing, I'm just concerned that it may damage the bolt carrier. Im using the G2 single hook FCG. Am I worrying about nothing, or is something not right?
oak 3
Same thing here. Also with the G2. The hammer is slightly different so the bolt catches. No big deal but I was thinking about grinding it down a little. Has anyone else fixed this problem???
IndyArms 10,186
mine do that also.... with G2 on all... It has NEVER been a problem... I also believe that in time with shooting, it will wear slightly and "loosen up" and all will be just fine... till then... when chambering a round... pull the handle back and let er fly!!! no worries, folks! SaigaShooter 0
Indy thats just what I wanted to hear. Thanks.
vjor 2
Yup, must AK do that, even the ones from factory, some people even think that it a bolt hold open.
hoop762 0
was having that same problem with my G2 trigger set. i took an emory pad and removed the finish on the the area that the bolt drags across on the hammer until it was nice and shinny. Didnt solve the problem completely but it doesnt stick nearly as bad as it used to but...like indy said, its probably just gonna take time. I personaly wouldnt risk grinding it, for risk of taking off too much. Just let it wear naturally HOOP
Sheik Yerbouti 0
I only use FSE fire control parts and have never experienced the problem.
oak 3
Sheik, thank you for the FSE FCG info.

jon elia 0
use some grease...like the kind in a grease gun lube up the top of the hammer where the trigger ear holds the hammer the trigger ear the disconector and the rails and just shoot the hell out of her...like a couple hundred rounds after that use brake cleaner to clean it out and it should have broken it in so to say, at least thats what i did with my amd and it is just as smooth as the saiga now but with a way smoother trigger
SaigaShooter 0
Greased her up and put a few hundred rounds through her today, and let some onlookers empty a mag too(a loud gun with huge muzzle flash has a way of getting attention) Long story short, the carrier dosen't catch as easily anymore. jon elia 0
it worked for you too? the grease made my amd slide smooth. and plus its all metal grease can only help it out as long as you put it in the right places
Integratedj 1
I have used FSE, G2 and RSA, and they all do it to an extent. IJ
TWGLADF 0
if you'd put your factory hammer up next to your u.s. hammer you will see that they are way different. i had to grind the hell out of my g2 hammer but now if works as new with no hang ups. before grinding it would not release at all. you could barely push it forward. i hated to remove my factory fcg. they are right about mak90s having some of the best fcg. the g2 is garbage compared to the factory mak90. it was smoooth as butta. but, you have to be compliant. i should have left it stock. they have one up at the shop all original they want $495. i paid $200 mint for mine in feb 2004.
