k_dawg 0
I am contemplating removing the front-sight all together. I never use it, as I have a tacpoint reddot mounted. If I remove it, its just as simple as banging out the pins, and pressing/banging off the sight? If I wished to shorten the barrel, and then use a flash hider to extend it to 16.01", can I just cut the barrel? Or, do I need to "re-crown" the end?
Onepoint 0
Yes punch out the pins and press off. Shortening the barrel is little more complicated, you have tyo make sure you cut it flat not at an angle, and then you need to recrown it. Not to mention the whole issue of damaging the chrome lining where you cut it. If you run out of batteries on the red dot, you have a one pellet shotgun without iron sights on it. It will probably effect accuracy some, and you may have to enlarge the gas port if it wont cycle. Personally I don't think those things are worth the couple inches in barrel length saved. k_dawg 0
totally forgot about the chrome lining. I only use my Saiga at the range, so not worried about it. It's just a "fun rifle".
