mike12345 18
what patterns well out of the 8 in saiga shotguns? I have fired hornady tap and federal flight control which are the same wad almost but the back of the wad gets blown apart by the higher pressure and they seem to hook sideways sometimes.... that produces a pattern thats dangerous for bystanders. first pic is 8in wads second pic is 18in barrel the stretched wad is out out of an 11.5in barrel I have shot a few others 12 pellot remington express sucks... so what are you shooting that patterns well? RRice 34
The 9 pellet Federal LE Flight controlled buck knocks a single fist sized hole in the paper at 12 yard out of my S17.It opens up to about 7-8 inches at 20 yards. mike12345 18
like i said the TAP or flight control wad blows apart, pick them up after and look at them. It hooks sideways sometimes, i've had pellots hit the ground in front of me from this. im looking for a good reliable pattern. Im thinking having the barrel overbored/backbored may help. I'll try #1 16 pellot tomorrow I still have 3rds in a box here. Edited December 4, 2010 by mike123456

RRice 34
I apologize for taking so long to get back. Honestly, nothing patterns better out of my gun than federal FCW/Hornady.I have shot EVERYTHING out of this gun and have measured it all. With that said, what muzzle attachment do you have and, assuming you have one, have you taken it off and ran some of the hornady through your gun?The reason I ask is that I have read that people with chokes or "choked" barrels have had poor patterns with the flight controlled buck due to the restriction prematurely stripping the wad off. That being said, the only thing I can think is maybe whatever muzzle attachment you are using may be "snagging" the wad.It is free and worth a shot.... mike12345 18
no attachment just the thread protector. Im not a fan of the breaching muzzle breaks, we never used them. Your paying a lot more just to have the 8in conversion so why add 2+ inches in muzzle break when you can cut the barrel off yourself at 11.5in.
