Ensign G-Vill 2
went shooting with new conversion saiga 223. I used tula 223 ammo FMJ. Loaded with new surefire 30rd and my factory 7 round magazine. Pre conversion this never happened. About 80% of the rounds dented on the rim (pic shown) What is happening and do I need to fix this? ChileRelleno 7,071
I'd say they're hitting the top edge of the ejection port (dust cover).
swells08 128
Dude...like all of mine look like that dented.
thunderheart 1
Yep, mine does it on every round. Sure it didn't do it before conversion? My rifle is still factory original (though not for long).
Ensign G-Vill 2
Before the conversion, 100% sure it never dented/scratched any casing. I was thinking I was supposed to grind down or remove something? This is pretty much the norm as far as AK's go doing this?
bohound 281
Looks like standard Kalashnikov kiss to me.
rob-cubed 74
Most of my AKs do it too. I think they make a port buffer for the top cover, if you have brass you want to reload. That's the common fix on other rifles like the CETME which also manhandle their ammo.
banshee 69
do I need to fix this? nothing to worry about. The sizing die and expander ball will round the neck up. Edited December 22, 2010 by Banshee
