TWGLADF 0
ok i can't exactly remember who, but i know somebody altered their mags to work in their saiga by building up the front of the mag so it was flush across the front. attached is a pic of an ak mag. does your saiga mag look like this? or is it flush across the front with no "gap"? SaigaShooter 0
I wonder what would happen if you tried a "new" saiga mag? I'd think the round would hit the top of the breach face, because the round would be higher than it should be.
TWGLADF 0
well actually i don't have it at home yet. it's "layawayed" up at the shop til next week. i got a guy buying a 22lr from me so i'm gonna use that $$$$ to go pick up my new baby! we'll have to throw a party with cake and ice cream and the little spring activated popper thingys and have a big welcome home banner over the front door with balloons tied to the mail box and a sign down on the street corner giving directions. uzitiger 193
Saiga magazines have no gap in the upper front. Using AK magazines will jam most 7.62x39 Saigas unless the rifle has a feed ramp. I purchased a Saiga hi-cap magazine without the gap. I intend to add US compliant parts so I can modify AK mags or add a feed ramp. I paid $45 for the magazine but it's legal and a lot cheaper than lawyers.
TWGLADF 0
yep your saiga mags have no gap but the ones that come with my new saiga do. just like the saiga i bought back in the day. i'm not gonna start fuckin up my gun by drilling, tapping, and all that stupid bullshit. if i have to use hi caps or die, then i'll just use the real fuckin thing. my ak. if my new saiga does accept my ak mags, which i'm sure it does hince the design of the factory saiga mag that comes with it, great! the u.s. parts compliance ain't nothin. i'll just use u.s. made mags or swap some followers and floorplates and swap the hammer. then change gas pistons if absolutely nesscessary. piece of cake!
