Frosty 9
Hello, PSL I know you reload slugs and buckshot. I have been wanting to do this myself. What components do you use? Powder (how much?), Primer, Wads (brand and type), Hulls (whose work best and which to avoid),......etc. Do you Roll crimp or Star crimp? Please go into some detail if you could please. psl sniper 963
indyarms and msrdiver really have more experience than my self. but heres a basic rundown of my "loads" first off you will notice they all use 30 grains of longshot reason being 30 grns falls right in the midle of max min load data. i pre weight all powder than match to the apropriete bushing in my lee load all 2. for my quick and dirty slug load (these are easy to cast and are damn accurate) .68 cal rnd ball hand cast. i use leftover federal tactical 00 hulls from the range. wad is winchester superlite (or claybuster equivelant) 30 grains longshot powder fed 209 primer my loading station uses a nice 2 stage star crimp. couple of buck loads. i cast my own #1 buck. i prefer low brass bulk remington hulls for buck loads. the reason being is the plastic is much tougher and stiffer. which is nice for the saigas. i use 2 types of wads either rem rxp12 or winchester waa12. 30 grains of longshot. cheddite 209 primer. 12 #1 buck pellets the only hulls i really tend to avoid are any ones with fiber base inserts (federal mostly) federal does make some one pice hulls such as the federal gold and most of the buckshot rnds. i dont really care for wimchester hulls either as they are very soft. made some pretyy sweet slug load usin old bean bag hulls from defensetech. nice clear highbrass one pice hulls. we get alot of strange things on our range as our DCT team does alot of training with the LTL stuff. ill pick up some more hulls in febuary when i go to requilify. one person who can get you some good info is MSRDIVER . really knows his stuff. left out the buck and ball. just to much of a pita to make right now. it is fun to shoot though. hope this is useful.
