What do most 308's use? 17x1 or 5/8x24? My last one was the dreaded 17mm but this latest one is the much beloved 5/8. Knock out the cross pins on your front sight with a punch and then bang the front sight base off with a rubber mallet or better yet press it off with a hydraulic press and measure it. I had an older pre bolt catch model that had the supposedly later style 17mm and this newer one is an EAA with the bolt catch but a 5/8 diameter under the front sight base so there is no certain formula to determine without measurement Quote Link to post Share on other sites
