Where did you buy your S12?

Recommended Posts

Just filed for tax returns and I'm going to have a free $500. Going to buy a S12 19" with that money and was curious who you all feel deserved your money (not sure how much profit they actually make on the sale, but yeah..)

I've heard a lot of people talk highly of Carolina shooters supply but wanted opinions.

I hate to break it to you but that $500.00 wasn't free for anyone but uncle Sam.

It was a free loan from you to them & now he's going to tax you again for giving it back to you.

Tax refunds are free loans to the government, but you only get taxed on the income once. Taxes you pay are deducted from your taxable income, so the $500 of income used to overpay taxes is not taxed until you receive the refund.

I wouldn't worry too much about the "free loan" part with today's interest rates. You might have missed out on about $3 of interest, assuming the overpayment was accumulated throughout the year.

I got mine at Classicarms. That was before I knew there are board sponsors, or I would have gone that way. Anyway Classicarms was great to do business with and would do business with them again.

I bought mine before the election, and before the big rush.

Got it at a gun show from a gun store just over the border in Nevada, they are right next to a big shotgun range run by a casino, so they have lots of shotguns.

At that time these were very hard to find, they had one left, and the only one at the gunshow.

Paid I think about $480 something... I think..

I just remember that it was a good price for the time. :smoke:

Unfortunately, they are either out of, about to revamp, or going out of business, nor are they a vendor. Nor do they ever update their domain when they were in business. They had saigas listed for months when they really only had the s308.

MDA is selling 109's for less than all of these....

I'm sorry who? MD Arms? If that's who you are talking about, are you sure they have them stocked?

Got mine from a local pawn shop NEW for $500 OTD, befor i was even a member here.

I dont think Carolina shooters has any in stock but I HIGHLY recommend them. Greg is a good guy to deal with and has super fast shipping, excellent customer service and good prices. Not that other vendors here dont but i have no experience with others. I buy everything from CSS.

My bud and I both ordered from CSS this past Friday. The price was $499 + shipping (not sure what the shipping was on just the gun because I bought ALL the mods I wanted at the same time, I dont fuck around :) ) CSS said he sold 19 that morning (including mine) and my buddies would have made 20, and I think he had another 1 or 2 after that. So he sold 22+ of them in a matter of 2 days. WOW!

I paid $489 for the 19 inch S12 withuot the "optic rail" on the top of the handguard at Arms of America on Saturday afternoon.

I had heard about an upcoming ATF announcement and also knew they would be drying up for other reasons, so I knew I had to get one quick. I had to get up Saturday morning and drive to the bank to make a deposit so I could make my purchase. Sounds simple but I live in the middle of nowhere and its quite a drive to the bank.

Once I made it home I placed my order. A few hours later they were sold out of the model I bought. An our later they ran out of the California model. An hour after that they ran out of the 24".

I'm glad I bought one because I see them being dried up for a while. Now I just need to sell my Para 45 to fund it.

I bought mine from KVAR for $489 and they are still in stock. So is MD arms $499 and New Frontier Armory still has over 100 in stock for $550. Not sure why I'm seeing people buy them for $600 when they are still out there. Guess some people don't care to do much research.

ETA- KVAR just raised the price to a $519

I got mine from Mississippi Auto Arms. Good people to do business with but I will say the quality of the conversion left a lot to be desired. I had to tune it to run birdshot, bend the hammer main spring to keep the legs on place - the first few times to the range were disappointing to say the least - but now I love it.

To Nate's defense (I think that's his name at MAA) I never told him of the issues because I knew I could fix it and didn't feel like sending it off.
