GREYLUPO 358
I got a scar 17 today, had to trade in my FAL and drive 200 miles but I got a black one in .308 for a very very good price, along with 4 extra mags. This thing is only 8 lbs but feels less, will shoot nato 7.62x51mm and .308 and apparently sub moa with match ammo. Im thinking more along the lines of 1 moa but still damn good. The only thing I wish it had was an adjustable gas system like the FAL but oh well. I cant wait till tomarrow Im going to the range. Man this thing is sweet! And im focking broke lol. 22_Shooter 1,560
Nice. They take standard AR-10 mags, right? Pick up some Magpul .308 mags. AIM had some 20 rounders for like $18.
Vicarious_Lee 84
And that is just titties. Big, round, perky, symmetrical and tanned TITTIES, I tell you! If you got it for less than 2500 you done good, and I am jealous. Congratulations on a piston-driven rifle that makes the most die-hard and proven real-world operators that are fans of the AR platform get wood. Son, I got wood. Enjoy, good sir. Unfortunately not, it takes modified FAL mags. The 17 is kinda new so mags are hard to get, I was lucky to get the 4 extra.

Why thankyou sir, I saved for a long time and had to get rid of my awesome FAL to get it, but it was worth it. I picked it up for $2435, after taxes it came to $2608 and thats before the mags. I had to drive a couple hours out to the country to pick it up cause my local shop was charging $3050 for one. 200 mile drive I saved $600 and I got it in black like I wanted. BuffetDestroyer 969
Nice rifle. I would imagine that your mags alone would sell for $100 each right now. Far too rich for my blood.
YARP 300
This isn't the one that was at Walsh's gun store is it? Nope WHEW! I just sent my buddy (few hours drive) up that way to look at the same thing. Nice purchase, hope it's as much fun as it looks.

Yeah rip off bastards sell them for that much. I bought 4 for $145 after taxes. $15 cheaper than M1A mags I saw on gunbroker some asshole was selling the empty boxes for $8 and the mags for $
GREYLUPO 358
Well I just came back from the range, I fired 200 rounds total. 100 rounds of magtech .308, 40 rounds of British radway green nato and 60 rounds of German dag nato. The gun functioned perfectly and was very accurate. The magtech grouped a little tighter than the other 2 surplus ammo and seemed hotter. No joking the recoil was less than my Arsenal slr107cr, the muzzle break works great. The gun stayed on target rather well during rapid fire considering its a .308 rifle. Im very impressed and Im not missing my FAL so much anymore.
GREYLUPO 358
Added the very awesome military model Grip Pod to the SCAR 17 today, its a vertical grip and bipod all in one. Its spring loaded and with the push of a button two spring loaded legs shoot out with force. Ive heard nothing but good things about it and thought Id try it. I just added the light for the pic but its relation to my thumb id imagine it would be quite handy and easy to use. Tomarrow Im off to the range with another 200 rounds for some shooting before the super bowl. Edited February 6, 2011 by GREYLUPO
7N6Wolf 61
That thing looks really nice! I am sure it is a blast to shoot, but I am not sure if I am ready to go utterly broke just yet. My next .308 rifle will probably be a DPMS LR308. No joking the recoil was less than my Arsenal slr107cr, the muzzle break works great. The gun stayed on target rather well during rapid fire considering its a .308 rifle. Im very impressed and Im not missing my FAL so much anymore. To say that this impresses me would be a understatement of titanic proportions. True story. bigsal 757
have you thought about dropping $469 and buying the 22lr trainer clone that ISSC puts out? Supposedly its built really close to the real thing unlike the GSG crap that was floating around out there. Someone just pointed to this video on another forum where the trainer gets run over by an SUV and lives to shoot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lsiiz_STTAM Anyway it may be worth the purchase.
GREYLUPO 358
Yeah my local shop has one of these for less than $500. I actually put it together for him when the first came in. He sold like 3 of them already. I like it cause its Austrian. Its pretty cool but honestly the scar broke me for awhile. I bought the scar, extra mags, 600 rounds of magtech .308 and 600 rounds of German DAG nato, Im broke and will be eating ramen noodles for awhile lol. My next purchase in the future will be the ultimak gas tube and a red dot for my AK. I want it set up just like this guys AK minus the light and mines in 7.62x39mm like it should be. And damn how did he get run over? Edited February 10, 2011 by GREYLUPO

GREYLUPO 358
I added some glass today. A Leupold MR/T M2 1.5x5 scope with illuminated reticle,Its designed to use as a cqc optic with both eyes opened with the ability to zoom up to 5x for mid range shots. Perfect for the SCAR .308. It sits on a AMD QD mount which is better than a larue for a bunch of reasons. Edited February 19, 2011 by GREYLUPO
