storm6490 2,768
Hi Guys, Haven't been on here for a while. I get sucked into gunbroker most the time. Very few people over there know about saiga so I thought this would be a better place to ask. A guy in the local paper has a Saiga .308 with the thumbhole stock on it. It interested me since it has a nice long barrel and the trigger group is forward already. Not that I would really need to convert it or want to. Maybe if I found a VEPR type stock set. Anyway, he says its like new in the box with about two boxes of ammo down the tube. He wants 500 bucks. Is this a fair price and what should I look for? Should it be minty? Any problems spots to check? Any help you may offer I thank you for in advance. Here is some gun porn, this is my saiga 12 imported by kalashnikov of port st lucie and converted by keith at Tac-47. I freaking love it! Rock on! Nick
Bean.223 365
It it's like new 500 is not a bad price at all. They've gotten kinda hard to find.

Koljec 37
It it's like new 500 is not a bad price at all. They've gotten kinda hard to find. I second that. I got one from MAA for ~$600 in the fall, the only one I could find from any seller after quite a bit of searching. At the time, RAA said only 50 are imported each year. Not sure what that translates to now with RAA maybe out of the import game. Anyway, get a good look at it. Real Ver 21s come from the factory with the trigger group moved forward and a slant cut to the back end of the receiver. It makes them very hard to refit, but Ver 21s are pretty beautiful to start with. Edited February 8, 2011 by Koljec
Dudethebagman 222
I have one and like it. I paid $585 for it new about a year and a half ago. I think $500 is fair if it's in good shape. just be aware that the trigger guard and mag release is a little different than other Saigas. It's one piece, and smaller. If you decide to switch out the trigger to use hi-caps, you may have to shorten the trigger a little and possibly grind the surface of an internal rivet a bit. I did. No big deal, something to be aware of.
bigsal 757
That is a good deal, just make sure the v21's wood is not all beat to hell. Typically used items tend to be well worn, and you may want to make sure its free of rust before buying..... that being said $500 is a good deal!
