beerasaurus 9
So I just got my new S12 from KVAR, and it's got a rougly 1"x3" rectangular hash-mark on the right side of the receiver, right behind the safety. At first I couldn't figure out what it was--it sort of looks like somebody had taken a large-tooth file to it, but I couldn't imagine why. Then I noticed that it's the spot where the original importer's stamp (Scottsdale, IN I think) had been. Presumably it's because they were stamped that way in the factory before Ish started importing into Las Vegas, and had to be changed. The new NV importer's mark is now on the left-side, right behind the scope mount. It's kind of funny, but unfortunately looks like shit. I'm trying to decide what to do about it (leave it, try and fill it, etc.). Anybody else gotten one of these? And, if so, what do you plan on doing about it?
Bullfrog00 0
Yea the one i just got from K-var had the same thing. I hadnt considered doing anything with it yet. Maybe if i go to paint the gun i'll try to grind it off smooth.

Valhalla 4
Ah, the beauty of buying Russkie products. Which S-12 model are you speaking of? Is Arsenal the importer stamped on the LH side? I have yet to receive mine from K-Var.
Bullfrog00 0
Yea mine has arsenal stamped on the LH side. Its the s12-01 model that I got from K-Var
RJWesleyIII 7
mine has the same thing. Its the 12-03 model. If I end up dura coating it, I will smooth it out. Looks like hell IMO.

harley-mac 7
I have BHO and LRBHO from K-var. The BHO gun on the LH side you can barley see Russian American Armory that had been stenciled over. The LRBHO gun was imported by Legion , FLA and the BHO was imported by Arsenal Legion Izhevsk, NV

Guns Are Great 140
mine has it but I can't see it while looking down the sights, which is the way i tend to hold it! I think it is pittiful but mayhave it engraved in that area! or smooth when parkerized and dura coated!
lokmeup 30
I heard these were coming in like this... Got any pictures?
Jeep297 20
I've got three from K-VAR like this and my brother has 2 with the same marks as well. I'd prefer it wasn't there but I'm not really bothered by it. These things aren't meant to be showcase guns anyway, they're workhorses that are a blast to shoot. sunnybean 939
I heard these were coming in like this... Got any pictures? And then it'll have the new importer's markings on the other side. Either Mercury-Hermes or Arsenal Inc. And those look poor too.
GONIF 7
mY 2 HAVE THE SAME THING ,UGLY . My understanding is they were imported and there was a problem with the original importer K-Var bought them and are now the importer ,so they blanked out the old and stamped thier name in another location. Ugly but legit .
psignore00 0
i tried filling mine in with the same JB Weld i used to fill in the 4 old trigger holes. It's better, but something about the way they did it, it's almost like it's raised, not etched in. it looks better than before, and is not nearly as noticeable, but if you're looking for it you can see it. I may go back and try it again, if i get bored one day, but i'd probably try grinding in flat first and then fill it in.
Acer2428 4
Mine has the same marking from K-VAR, but you could tell they also added a letter to the end of my serial number. I know b/c when I prepped for paint, the last letter lost all finish. Upon closer inspection, it is slightly larger than the font used for the rest of the #.
shoot2day 0
I bought mine from Henderson Defense and it came in the same way. It does look strange but what can ya do. I was just happy to have one.
