Dandiesel 16
I just ordered a bunch of conversion parts from CSS for my s12, and was wondering where the welds go for attaching the tromix receiver plate to the receiver. do you weld it on the outside and grind it smooth? or is there a way to weld from the inside? If anyone has pictures of the welds I would appreciate it. Planning on using ace stock, with hogue grips for now. Also wondering if any one used the tromix DIY TG with hogue grips? would it be better to weld a grip nut on?
skiboatsp 111
"These are mine, not work solicited from saiga 12 forum" this is an official disclaimer to protect the innocent I create a weld prep around the outside of the plate Then fit the plate to the inside of the reciever I weld the plate with .032 wire using a .0625 tungston electrode, and fill the groove only letting filler material wash onto the end surface of the reciever, careful not to let it roll over the edge. This allows for a crisp straight edge so you can't tell it's been welded Edited February 25, 2011 by saigatechusa
