Where do you shoot?

Ranges nearby?

What type of shooting do you do?

How often do you shoot?

Whats two or three of your main firearms?

I'm in Hyden. No 'ranges' around here other than just wherever you decide to shoot. I piss off my parent's neighbors, oh, about three times a month with the S12 and various handguns.

Hey gshack!!!! I think we know each other from another forum, KFA? Hope it's the same guy. If not, glad to know you too!

I'm in Bowling Green. I shoot mainly at Green River Gun Club. Also frequent New Haven gun range near Bardstown. I'm an AK guy for sure. Enjoy shooting anything, but if I'm only shooting 3 guns, they would be: AK, Saiga 12, S&W M&P .40.

A Ky group shoot would be fun. Let's see how many of us there are.

Yeah Wash, it's me from KFA. Hoping to get to NH sometime for the fun! I still need to break in my Saiga 12 and make sure it works before the conversion!

Hey Ya'll;

I'm in Western Kentucky, just about 10 miles west of the Lakes (near Murray). I've never been to a range before, since we're pretty rural and can shoot mite near anywhere. And since I'm on about six acres, I have my own range. I am a great fan of the AK platform, and if I had to choose between guns, and settle down with three or four, the S12 would be first, the AK47 second, the Rugar SR9c for pistoleering, and a K-T PF9 for concealment. But that doesn't mean I don't like my Saiga 7.62 by 39s....

There is a gun club that meets at Boaz, Ky., and in fact, the proprietor of a small gunshop there ordered my S12 several months ago. I met him at what has now become a very heavily (way TOO heavily0 attended gunshow near Paducah, put on every three or four months. I've managed to pick up some ammo there, but as to guns, these folks think a lot more of their products than I do. In fact, the only Saiga I've seen there was a Tromix (it shows up every time), but with a price tag of 2495.00. A bit steep for me!

I reload as well, since I shoot enough that it can actually save me money.

Anyhow, I'd certainly enjoy meeting up with, and shooting with, any and all Saiga savvy enthusiasts.

PJJ

Hey Guys;

Just a note for those in this area....Paducah Shooter's Supply (PSS), in Paducah, has on the shelf (as of yesterday), an S12 ($749.00 cash price, more if credit card), a Saiga 410 (don't know the price), and a Saiga 223 (I gave $349 for my last 7.62, so these might be priced decently as well).

I bought my last S12 from them, two weeks ago, and managed to fire 14 shells through it before I converted it. My first S12 has been massaged so much, that I'm reluctant to convert it. Having two side by side, one converted, one not, I'm not certain that conversion on the first one would prove beneficial. On the other hand, I've recently converted a pair of 7.62's, and that most assuredly was beneficial.

Anyhow, would love to hear about shooting events coming up.

Later!

Hey ya'll...

Here's answers to the OP's questions:

Anyone out there in Kentucky want to get together and shoot? YES!!

Where do you shoot? Right now, I'm in Louisville, so I shoot at Bluegrass Indoor Range, which is just a couple miles from my house.

Ranges nearby? See above...

What type of shooting do you do? Right now, just shooting at paper targets, with my glocks or one of my S12's. Shot some slugs there for awhile but then they said I couldn't, so just birdshot lately.

How often do you shoot? 1-2 times per week. I usually have my kid shooting with me (he is 8, and has moved up from his 22 handgun to my Glock 9mm's.)

Whats two or three of your main firearms? Well, I carry a Glock 26 (have KY CCDW), and usually shoot that and/or my G19 at the range every week. Also my converted S12 or my stock S12. I've also got a Saiga 7.62 that needs some shooting (but can't shoot it indoors), and a Colt rifle that also needs some shooting. Planning a trip to Knob Creek soon, but got to go up to Wisconsin to help take care of my mom for a week now. Oh, plus have a couple Draco's that are awesome little "pistols" (got a little shooting in at the range until I realized I wasn't allowed to shoot that ammo there either).

Would love to find some other Saiga or AK fans who have an outdoor place to shoot. Wishing I had some land!!! I can't shoot most of my guns...

Yeah, hopefully some of us can get together this summer and do some shootin' ...

Cheers,

I don't qualify as a "Kentuckian". But I am a "Kentuckianan" I live a couple of miles above the Horseshoe Casino Riverboat on the Indiana side of the Ohio River. During the winter months I can see the lights of Louisville thru the bare trees east of us.

I shoot 'casually', meaning I live in a rural area where I can shoot in nearby fields (w/owners permission) using waterjugs and targets mounted on wooden pallets. If you guys across the River ever have a get-together, put me on the list to invite. I'll try and make it and drag my Vodka Special with me.

At Fort Campbell, KY pretty new here but my buddies that have been here for a while showed me about Land Between the Lakes range above Cadiz, KY so that is where I track to about about 5 times a month and fire with other S12 owners. Recently got me a Legion S12 converted but having a few problems with cycling that I am hoping to get fixed somewhere locally as I am not sure where to look first. Other than that firing at the range on Fort Campbell post more often. If anyone is in the area and familiar with the cycling issue or want to shoot I am all for it. Fire that and the FAL , .45, 10/22 and a few other goodies. Let me know
