What are the options for post-conversion stock attachment?

Recommended Posts

Most of the conversion FAQs and guides tend to gloss over reattachment of the final stock. I'm curious what the various techniques and options are. I'm looking to do a s12 conversion within the next month, and want some sort of folding stock (Ideally an underfolder, but a sidefold will work if I can't find a good underfolder for it.)

So, any advice?

An underfolder will require a lot of machining to the rear of your receiver and a new rear trunnion to be riveted in.

Tapco makes a side folder. I put it on my S12 and hated it. The hinge smacked me in the nose every time I fired it. It now lives on my 223 and works well on that one. L5K is right about cutting the tang off to put a good quality one on but it is not that difficult and works really well.

are just a few options. If you can imagine it, someone is probably already making it. Just shop around and you should be able to find a set up that will work.
