Does anyone have a Mako recoil reducing AR stock on their Saiga? Was wondering if the recoil reducer interferes with the functioning at all and how much does it help? And does it seem like a durable stock?

Was going to go with a folding stock but "The Commonwealth" doesn't allow folders combined with drums. Seen the Mako stock and figured with its recoil reducer and 8 positions (proper fit) it may help the Mrs. warm up to my S12.

Thanks!

I have one, had to call them first to find out the tube diameter, I was told commercial spec. Mounted a commercial spec ACS stock on it and with the friction lock engaged its pretty solid.

Recoil wise, it definately helps with recoil on higher power loads, blasted 100 rounds of 00 buck and 30 slugs a couple of weeks ago and I was only a little sore. I took some video, the spring is stiff enough that the slugs and buckshot only compressed a fraction of its capability, maybe 1/2, and it sprung back fast enough you don't really notice it doing its thing.

As to whether it interferes with cycling or not I don't know, I've heard stories both ways. My gun cycles the same as it did without it, which is that it still won't cycle light target loads. I just got a booster puck and low power recoil spring this week to see if I can get it to cycle light loads without any significant work.

Durability wise it seems rock solid, enough that I haven't considered that would be any sort of issue.

Cobra: Hope all goes well with it, please post your experience as I'll be looking forward to your report.

Faux: THANK YOU. Exactly what I was looking for...and hoping to hear(read). If all goes well with Cobra I'm going to take 2 glowing reports as "proof enough" to order one.

Thanks fellas

edit - Faux: let us know how that "low brass kit" works out...

Actually I didn't notice you were talking about the stock, I just have the tube. Still I can add more info now. Adding the booster puck to my gun I was able to go from 0% of light target loads cycling to 95% of them cycling. The rounds that didn't cycle seem to be because of friction from the bold and bolt carrier, rounds would eject but the bolt wouldn't close all the way. Since the rounds are ejecting fine I would say this is because my gun isn't broken in and not because of a limp wristing effect from the recoil spring. Still the tension on the spring kicks up dramatically as you compress it, I do make sure to shoulder the weapon tight enough to partially compressing the spring and make sure theres only enough movement to help absorb recoil.

I see they are made by FAB Defense. Are they Israeli made? Just wondering for 922r concerns. As long as you put an American buttstock on it you'd be good. Do they make the recoil reducing tube in aluminum?

Whoops, didn't think about that. I ASS-umed they were American made.

xites - I'll check that out, thanks.

edit - can someone with that stock and a camera post a pic please. I'll owe ya a beer...
