LoneStarSaiga 0
First time Saiga owner. Received the new 12 today. Also purchased 3 new mags. The old mags are 1.013" in width on the front end sides. Fits well with no problems. The new mags, GEN 2 AGP's, are 1.031" in width on the front end sides. The magwell opening for the front end sides is 1.028". Did I miss something?

Spartacus 1,619
I would not force them, that can crack the mags. Take a look at MD-Arms guide to fitting their drum. The same idea applies to the stick mags.
kindapointless 22
Congrats on joining the wild world of the Saiga 12. First thing you should know is that most things on this weapon system need a little tweaking to work. Don't be scared by this fact. DON'T PANIC! The fact that most things can then be custom fitted to your weapon allowing you to have it just how you like it. It scares some people off but if you stick with it you can have a weapon that will outperform anything out there. All right now to your problem. Most of the magazines have to be fitted to your gun nothing odd about this I personally like it because I like tight fitting mags. Some manufacturers even include instructions for this like the aforementioned drum from md arms. If you have a dremel it takes just a minute to fit them. Just go slow and if you take to much off build it back up with jb weld. Good luck and remember at this point most problems have been seen before so don't worry were here to help

Did I miss something? that's way too thick to be "forced in". as suggested above, you need to custom fit the mag by shaving off from the thick areas til you get the fit right. be careful not to overdo it though. happy modding. LoneStarSaiga 0
ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS WITH THE MAGS!!! ***PURELY OPERATOR ERROR/IGNORANCE*** Sorry for yelling, just had to confess the truth. Thanks for the help. You all are correct, this is a great forum. Lots of help/info to read. I decided to finesse it in. No problems. Installed/Removed a few times and they are good to go. Will start the conversion soon. I have some 762x39's waiting also. I guess my only concern is the talk/rhetoric about possible bans on the 12. Will have to just ride and see. kindapointless 22
I wouldn't worry that much about it. I really doubt them coming to take it. It would get messy too fast too many people having a ptsd incident over rights we fought for.
