africamagical 5
isn't high capacity clip a bit of an oxymoron ? what's the highest cap clip you have seen? m1 en bloc 8 rounds? don't the 5.56 stripper clips that feed those spoons only have 10 on em?

Mephis 82
I lol'd... Firstly: “A magazine that allows a gun to fire 32 shots in 16 seconds is good for only one thing: killing a lot of people fast; and that’s something we can live without. Assault clips: they make everyone a target,” Just hahahahaha... And I think the president probably thinks about as much of them as we do. "The Obama administration has convened a series of gun-policy meetings at the Justice Department to cover what, exactly, can be done to tighten current law and ensure that unstable purchasers don't get their hands on firearms. High-capacity magazines, sources tell The Huffington Post, have not come up during the talks." Guess they're too busy trying to figure out what the hell an assault clip is to talk with the brady campaign. Edited April 13, 2011 by Tombs
RobRez 1,896
I really is surprising how all of the Brady bill B.S. and anti "Assault weapons" got started with Brady being shot by a man using a .22 Revolver!!
kindapointless 22
wow did you guys read the comments at the bottom. Wow the stupid people are breeding. On a side note anyone know where I can get a Target like that? I wonder if I would get booted from the range?
csspecs 1,987
Favorite quote "it takes no skill to hit multiple targets in a crowd with a assault magazine" (a compilation of a few comments). Pifft even with my marginal driving skills I could do way better with a buick then a glock. (comment is meant as comparison only, I hold no grudge against my fellow man). Firearms are a highly overstated danger.
DogMan 2,343
They just don't get it, and never will. Guns are supposed to be deadly. If their plan is to try to make sure that a crazy person can only kill a few people instead of working to make sure he cannot get his hands on any weapon, then they have admitted defeat. The common denominator in most of these high profile killings is mental illness. If a mentally ill person has only one bullet and kills one person, that is still a tragedy. The object should be to separate the mentally ill from any weapon and to make sure that sane people on the scene can fight back immediately when we fail to do that.

I was reading this thread at work on my phone, and was coming home to post something similar to this. The Brady bunch's idiotic campaign on high cap mags is just an appeal to the gut reaction of "oh these are bad, no one needs these". It's based on nothing but a fearful knee-jerk reaction, rather than the more logical approach of keeping the mentally unstable away from these guns in the first place. I remember hearing the NRA turning down the offer to join in on the discussions. They should've joined in, and pushed for a trade of sorts - because I'm sure some tightening will come out of this. If the background checks get harsher, then give us some insurance against ridiculous legislation like this proposed high-cap bill. A ban on gun bans, so to speak. KC913 324
I'm pretty sure that myself and most of the avid shooters that I associate with could kill more people in 16 seconds with a 10 round magazine than some nut-job with a 32 round magazine. Someone should get some sales reports and compare the number of shootings using high capacity magazines vs. the number of high capacity magazines in current circulation. Then compare the number of shootings that occurred using standard, "low capacity" magazines (shootings that involved 10 rounds or less being fired). Surplus rifle magazines excluded, as the majority of the shit is revolving around shootings using high capacity pistols. Edited April 13, 2011 by KC913
KC913 324
To be safe, I just went ahead and "panic-bought" 4 more TI25 magazines for the 10/22.
Jred255 0
"There are plenty of reasonable limitations we place on items that in the hands of untrained or private citizens have the potential to do great harm. This is why you can't drive a race car on public roads. An 11+ round mag serves no useful defensive purpose and defies any reasonable explanation for ownership in the hands of people outside of law enforcement, security, or the military." I drive my race car on the street. I have plenty of friends with 400+ HP cars that are race cars. I don't see anyone telling them they can only have 110 HP and anything more is illegal. I mean shit an F-350 has no use in someones hands if they don't do contracting, hauling, work with it by the way that guy thinks. And now this guy wants 11+ you mean i can have 1 extra !?! how about 6+ or 13+? There are some really moronic comments on that article. And I'm in NY and apologize for the stupidity.
