Info from wholesaler on Saiga 12's

IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION THAT THE STATE DEPARTMENT APPROVED THE IMPORTATION OF SAIGA 12'S AS A SPORTING FIREARM......WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

HOPEFULLY WE WILL SEE CONTAINERS HITTING SHORES IN ABOUT 30 DAYS OR SO....

ALSO WILL HOPEFULLY SEE A SIGNIFICANT PRICE REDUCTION IN THE SAIGA 12'S NOW THAT THEY ARE APPROVED AS A SPORTING FIREARM!!!

Nice to hear that they'll be availible again, but i doubt we'll ever see sub $500 s12's again

Agreed!

Once they have the chance to raise the price it rarely goes down.

If by some miracle it goes down below $450 I will be getting another one. Maybe a Saiga-20 for $400? A Saiga-410 for $300?

Great news!!!

sure, prices will go back down to the 450ish range again, just like when obangme got elected, everything in the gun world went through the roof price wise...Once people settled down, and we all figured out that he wasnt going to do shit, everything went back down to normal prices...

If the prices do not go down on S-12's, then there will be alot of guns sitting around... The reason people bought s-12's at crazy prices was because of a potential ban... Now that there is no potential ban, there is no inflated demand for them...

I feel bad for the people who paid almost a grand for a bone stock S-12. This is good news since I wanted another saiga 12 but couldnt pay those prices.

I LMMFAO at those that paid the inflated prices :lolol:

Patience and timing is the key. When they hit $500 again, I'll buy a couple more.

Until then.... I can get by with what I have.

I guess now we need 20 threads about this new news

At least 20.... maybe even 30 threads like this would suffice.

Not to sidetrack the good news, but is that your hand? beefcake? Looks like burnt-n-blistered to me. Hope you feel better.

Never gonna happen. Izhmash has increased the price they charge for S-12s.

The extra IZ-109 I picked up recently was an unmarred, NIB RAAC import, (and I didn't pay anywhere near $1k), so I'm still glad I bought it. Finding an actual RAAC S-12 for sale, (and not just somebody using old stock photos for a recent import), is getting pretty difficult, regardless of any ruling by ATF.

Then the Russians can suck it too.

Prior to all this bull$shit, they had basic S12s listed on their site WITH AK100 series folding stocks for $279.

People will not pay these prices for S12s, especially in this economy. We will patiently wait for prices to return to free market values.

I don't think the above statement is true also the prices will not be that low again considering the current price from the factory is more than $400.00 before duties, excise tax and shipping.

This is why I didn't feel bad paying $650 retail for my S12 this month. I rather suspect that even Internet pricing of S12s isn't going to go down much past $500.

~$650 isn't bad at all. I don't think you overpaid. I suspect that, going forward, S-12 average price will hover between ~$650 and ~$700.

Some here blame the price increases entirely on the Russians, but let's not forget that the US dollar's value is significantly lower than it was in the ~$500 S-12 days.. and unfortunately I think it will continue to fall, at least until early 2013.

Another factor is the cost of raw material and freight (i.e. diesel) have gone through the roof.

Good point. Thanks to the terrible energy and monetary policies, (etc), of the socialists currently in charge, the cost of everything has increased quite a bit in the last couple years.

The Federal Reserve is the entity that is debasing the dollar, not the administration. To be sure, Obama has made supportive remarks about the Fed's policies, and he did in fact reappoint The Bernank, but I wouldn't expect a new administration to turn things around on that front.

I didn't buy one, but the odds were against the S12.

The ATF is always pulling something, and couldn't care less about us.

People were taking a gamble, but in the end they were playing the odds.

$489 shipped for the last RAA S12 that I bought.... in December. I saw a slight fluctuation in price and pounced mere days before the shit went ape. It's all about the timing :smoke:
