ymg200 0
There is a part in Saiga-12 (shotgun) that is not present in other AK variants. I can't figure out what is the purpose of this part. It is a flat triangular shaped plate that sits on the same axle with the hammer next to the right wall of the receiver. This part can rotate around the axle a little bit while space allows, but it is spring loaded - pushed down, and a small part of it sticks from the cut in the bottom of receiver in front and to the right from the trigger. Can anybody tell me what is the purpose of this part? Do I need it at all in my shotgun? Thanks all.
ak01q 0
It's the bolt catch to hold it in the open position.

ymg200 0
Thanks, guys. I enjoyed the reading, and I especially enjoyed recalling an old joke about filing edges of the part to bring it to perfection
