Mka 1919 is on it's way!!!

Recommended Posts

I just talked to the website I ordered my akdal Mka 1919 from and it will be shipping from Kentucky in the morning!! Pretty stoked for the first test run and am having trouble with the idea of waiting for aftermarket parts from Chaos and Tromix... I already exchanged emails with Tony about some gas systems mods, but it looks like things are gonna be a little ways out seeing as Im sure he's busy with current s12 work and is currently designing a shorty handguard for the 1919. I'll post results as soon asni get time for a range trip. Big props to all those out there who are already changing the game and still find time to design parts for this new firearm.

Edit:I called and it shipped yesterday so I should have it by Wednesday. :smoke:

Shortening the gas system is going to be a huge deal, much harder than the Saiga. The gas block is welded to the barrel.

Tony has successfully modified his SBS to run reliably at 12", so I'm sure the same mods will give you the gas sensitivity you're looking for.

Hmmm... I think I just assumed barrel length restrictions where the same in a shotty and rifle, thanks for the correction. And Jasper, I will run it at full length for a few months to get a good feel for it, but I really like the shortened look of Tonys, I love that it looks like a beefy Ar 15. And it will be mostly used for home defense and pumpkin blasting, likely bound for the safe. It was a late night impulse buy after a sixer of brews, but I am positive that I will enjoy this gun. I love my s12 and was already planning on buying another, so I figured some different might be cool.

I want to clarify. I didnt realize that the gas system has to be shortened to make the SBS a certain length. I thought it was just shortening it for its own sake or in an effort to speed the cycle or something. I dont claim ANY knowledge of this process. It was a question because I dont understand the reason for shortening it. I still dont know and would like to. I wasnt trying to come accross as fiippant. IF I did, sorry.

I cant have SBS in Indiana or Id know a whole heck of a lot more about it for damn sure!! Funny how we can have full auto, suppressed, ( have), short barrel rifle ( I have) but we cant have SBS and of all things, switchblades. Go figure.

Ups says it is going to show up on thurs... I suppose I should call CSS for a bushing... But if I ordered it Thursday morning before I go pick up the 1919 it would probably be at my house before I got home from the ffl, because Greg is an f'ing magician.
