TonyRumore 1,332
We are shippping the first 50ea AR-15 golf ball launchers ($105ea) to Carolina Shooters Supply and Mississippi Auto Arms today. These first 50 launchers will include five range balls and five blanks so you can try it out as soon as you get it. After those 50 are gone, the Launchers will be sold individually without balls or blanks. I believe that CSS and MAA will both be stocking blanks. The launchers are CNC machined from a solid piece of 4140 bar stock and weigh in at a hefty 15 ounces. It's quite a hog-out. The new AR-15 Golf Ball Launcher from Tromix is not your ordinary 150 yard, POS blooper launcher. This device will literally drive the ball completely out of sight! The launcher creates an enormous amount of backspin as the ball rockets away from the launcher. When fired parallel to the ground, the ball will fly straight out, four feet off the ground, to about 100 yards where the backspin will start to bite, accelerating the ball skyward at a 45 degree angle……until “blink” it’s out of sight. The first time you see this monster in action, you’re going to shit a cinder block.” Simply screw the launcher to your AR-15 threaded barrel (1/2-28 threads), load a ball into the launcher, and fire it out using a blank cartridge. Instructions for Use are as follows: WARNING: Never attempt to load a golf ball into the launcher while a live blank cartridge is in the rifle’s chamber! Never fire any cartridge other than a blank round, when a golf ball is present in the launcher. Don’t be a Dumbass. 1. With your AR-15 rifle unloaded, remove your flash hider or other muzzle device, install the ½” o-ring over the threads, and screw the launcher on to the end of your barrel. Seat it up against the O-ring, but don’t squash it flat. 2. By rotating the launcher either over, under, right, or left of your barrel, you can create the desired spin in order to curve the ball in any direction. Usually, you will want the launcher above your barrel in order to give the ball maximum lift. 3. Drop a golf ball down the throat of the launcher and shove it completely to the bottom using your thumb or suitable tool. The ball should fit snug in the launcher. Not all balls are the same diameter so tightness will vary. New balls will fly substantially farther than old worn out balls. 4. Insert a magazine in your rifle loaded with blank cartridges only. Chamber a blank round, point in a safe direction, and fire. The spent blank will not extract or eject from your chamber. DO NOT RECHAMBER A NEW ROUND AFTER FIRING! 5. With the spent blank left in your chamber, reload the launcher, THEN chamber a fresh blank cartridge and fire again. Tony Rumore Tromix
physicsnerd 139
It may not have a practical use but that just plain sounds like fun. Any videos of it in action?
jmzzl 146
I feel like buying one of these to build an AR around. I think I found something to cure my slice, a new driver!
TonyRumore 1,332
We have tried to video the thing, but you just can't see the ball on the camera. This is one of those items that generally has little interest until you actually see it in action. Once you see it.....it's a must-have item. Tony
yakdung 2,926
Too cool. I love shit like this. Don't let Will of Red Jacket get wind of this thing. Be safe, Yakdung
joelrod47 373
I have the #2 prototype of this launcher, and it's the damnest thing you've ever seen in action!! I've actually measured a flight of a pretty beat-up old range ball at just over 2000 feet !! A new ball will get more distance than that !! At the range (or anywhere else) you shoot this thing, all other activity stops and people come to watch it, wanting to shoot it !! People put down FA stuff to come see this thing !! I've seen other types of golf ball launchers, and believe me, nothing else even approaches what this TROMIX launcher will do !! It's a great toy !!!

Be safe, Yakdung It was actually in action at the Red Jacket B-Bash! Yeah, but the B-bash range was way too short. The ball just went over the tree line and that was it. Razorback 72
I've been hoping these would be available for a while. Have you tried these with any other calibers? When you first mentioned these would be for sale last year, I tried a launcher on my 9mm, and have been really wanting to try the Tromix on my Masterpiece Arms MPA-930 with 1/2 X 28 threads. Works OK with 9mm blanks and a cheap import launcher, but I want to see the backspin effect from the Tromix model . Shot some video, 4th of July 2010 but like you said, really hard to see the ball, even the orange ones on the video. Thanks for getting these to market.
