Matthew Hopkins 1,065
welcome to the board save yourself a lot of time and a ton of money and do it yourself. there is excellent tutorial that guides you step-by-step. I am not the most mechanically incline person, but I did mine, it wasn't all that difficult or hard, just a few simple tools is all that is needed. it only takes less then a couple of hours to do it vs. waiting months and months for a smith to finally getting around to do yours. the money I would have spent for a smith to do that simple work I put to a tax stamp for it and cut the barrel down to 13 inches, and yes, I did that myself as well. I used a buddy's band saw thingy to cut it down. don't know what the offical name of it is, but it was a band saw thing that rotated down and the weight of it cut it trough. here is the tutorial I used, step-by=step with pictures http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/40886-step-by-step-conversion-with-pics/ the end result: Edited August 1, 2011 by Matthew Hopkins
