Cryogaijin 33
I recently bought a compact 4x32 for my 16"er. I am using a low-rise sidemount for it, and am curious if anyone has recomendations on what distance to sight it in at? I was thinking 150 or 175 yards.
Scott Kenny 144
200 yards. Assuming a 150gr FMJ at 2600fps, you'd be not more than 3" high from 0-200, and only 10" low at 300 yards.
Mephis 82
Sight in at 25 yards, but sight in high. I'd say around 2-1/2" to 2-3/4" high at 25 yards, and you should be good to go for practically any reasonable range for the gun. On PSO/POSP scopes, I sight in with the second chevron dead on at 20-25 yards, and that has proven to work really well for me. In other words, regardless how close or far, it seems pretty instinctive to use, and for much longer distances, it feels pretty easy to compensate for drop. Rhodes1968 1,638
Just do the standard 25yd to get close and 100yd final. Reason is that 100yds has very little impact from environment (wind temp etc) yet you get a zero thats easily adjusted from a ballistics chart. Thats what was taught to me and its never failed me. Have fun.
