mashburns 0
Does anyone in Virginia know why these two topics keep showing up in internet searches? I have read the VA laws and see no restrictions on magazine capacity or folding stocks.
physicsnerd 139
If I remember correctly the law in VA is that you can't have a shotgun with a rotary feeding device with 12 rounds of capacity AND a folding stock. I guess it was originally written to exclude the Streetsweeper. But you might want to look further but I think that is the gist.

A strange combination indeed and I thought it was so unusual that I was missing something. I wonder why they just didn't specify the Streetsweeper and be done with it. Too simple maybe. I guess the folder on my AK-74 with 30 round mags should be safe when I go to a range in VA.
Gunfixr 76
We've looked at that law extensively, and even asked several people in state gov to get a definition. We've gotten no answers. However, as I recall, the law specifically bans the Streetsweeper, as well as banning the possession or sale of a spring driven rotary feeding device for a shotgun that will hold more than 10rds. I can look at it again, but I don't remember the part about the magazine and a folding stock.
mashburns 0
Thanks Everyone, Digging deeper I am now finding some restrictions regarding ammo. Supposedly anything, including FMJ, is not to have a steel core which includes most Russian surplus ammunition. I don't know of any affordable ammo for a Mosin or AK-74 that does not have a mild steel core. Is Virginia not particularly fond of ComBloc stuff in general or am reading this wrong?
