  1. 1. Well, what's your game?

Pool's the only thing I'll put money on without a second thought.

In a casino craps, because that's the best odds out there out of any game of chance if you know how to play, but it's quite rare that I'll lay money out for games of chance.

But pool, that's my sweet science.

When you get into that zone where you're shooting like God's guiding your cue, it's just awesome.

There's a bar in Oregon City called Midway that a few certified masters shoot at.

It may sound strange, but I'd rather lose to them than beat weak shooters.

Pool's really psychological & one's game can leave them in the blink of an eye, but I've found that shooting against a higher caliber of shooter keeps my game sharper.

My Dad's a big pool player, one of the best in his area. I like the game but not enough to bet on it.

I do drink occasionally, but rarely ever over indulge. Since I got my CCL, I just don't care to take the chance. Even at home. Stupid shit ussually happens at the MOST inopertune times.

I do play alot of solitair though, does that count?

Would i be considers a pasty nerd if i said Gears of War 1/2 and soon 3.

because chainsaws on guns are, admitted worthless in life, but AWESOME in gears of war!

your not alone man. my brother got me into the call of duty shit online. its sad. i put real world tactics to use i picked up from the marines and piss off a lot of little kids. its fun! before that i liked grand theft auto 4 for going on random rampages. thats still fun. i also like the dead rising zombie killing. pretty cool shit too.

other than that i do go the casino now and then. but havent in a while. i hear they now sell liquor so it may be a tad more interesting over in cherokee.

my game of choice is Mario supper sluggers because my son loves to whoop my ass in it other than that i love pool and used to play for money all the time in my younger days now it's COD on my x-box. Gambling is kinda like strip clubs you go have fun but all you do is come home with no money so I avoid doing both.

Well I don't really play any, but checked craps, because it is the most fun of the gambling entertainments. Being a Casino Shift Boss, I get payed to watch people play silly games. So I know all the odds and games very well, basic stratagey black jack has the least house edge, but, is boring as hell to play. Roulette and craps have the better payouts, but roulette is also a "grind" game, if you ever been in a REAL casino, all the noise comes from the craps table, it is the most social of the games, but can be a bit intimidating to most noobie players, and finding a decent dealer that will walk you through it is getting hard to find. If you do, TIP the person, don't waste their time, you tip for service not the win. My daddy told me there are three people that you tip, the person handling your food, drinks and money. And if you come to my town, Las Vegas, don't be a DICK.

You think the same way I do, you can only get better by learning new things and you can't do that playing suckers. It is nice to beat suckers though cause they always act surprised about it. Playing great players is not always fun but it is a learning experience. If I'm ever in Oregon you got action. :lolol:

HUZZAH!!!

My Pops's game is Craps (not surprising being as he comes from the rougher side of Hartford).

I was taught the logic of craps from him.

I like how it's social & the odds are good.

You're right about the noise coming from the craps table.

It's generally where the people that came up in the working class areas wind up.

There's something about the zombies that stare at the video machines that just turn me off.

Same with the people who keep playing after losing a bit.

It's like watching a junkie desperately try to get their fix.

The degenerate gamblers seem to be on par with other addicts.

One of my best friends is working his way up the ladder in security at the Mirage in Vegas & sees these types all too often.

He loves the job though.

There's nothing I love more than to hand the shit-talkers their asses.

But when I play the average-Joe who can't shoot to save his life, my game seems to drop closer to his level.

Pool is fascinating to me because of how one's game can come & go.

Shooting pool, at one time was all I did recreationally. Especially in the Navy.

I love when I pull off a really advanced multi-rail, off another ball shot... You know, the type of situation where you have to force yourself to play it cool & not smile your ass off like a dork that only got lucky. ^_^

Confidence has a whole lot to do with the game.

When the rare occasion comes about that you're able to get a shot & run a certified master... Well, it's like you just bagged the prom-queen.

It's the high of the conquest.

Spending a bit of time "fucking a beer bottle" with your cue without touching the rim is great practice for cue control.

An Elkmaster 14mm soft tip gives you a great edge on coin-op tables with the magnetic cueball.

The magnetic cueballs are way out of spec compared to a red-dot but the Elkmaster 14mm soft tip delivers a massive amount of grip so a good shooter can get enough draw to pull the cueball back the entire length of the table for the right shooter.

If using a red-dot I can draw that bitch down the entire length of the table hard enough to where it nearly makes it all the way back to the far end of the table after hitting the bank by me.

I can't recommend the Elkmaster soft tip enough.

I love it.

One thing I love to do when betting on pool with someone who's more skilled than me is switch it up & make it a 1-handed game.

When playing alone, when I get bored I switch it up & practice 1-handed. The trick is holding the cue at the balanced point like one would a pencil, lining up your shot, then shooting in a quick burst.

When you get used to it, you can take a great player out of their element & hand them their ass.

I'm not a good enough bullshit artist to hustle though.

I used to hustle a couple years ago but then everyone started to know who I was so that stopped. I think the funnest thing was when I beat a guy out of a 100 bucks with a broom handle. The look on his face when I ran 6 balls and the 8 was priceless.
