belbo 3
I am converting a 7.62x39 and want to put a folding stock on it. I want to go with the Ace skeleton stock, 8.5. What is needed to turn this into a folding stock? What folding mechanism do you guys suggest? I don't want a cheap platic piece that easily breaks with use, I want something that will hold up to hard use. Edited September 13, 2011 by belbo
Fallschirmjager667 729
the ace folding mechanism is your only option, it's very solid and i don't think i've ever heard of one breaking. you also need the internal receiver block that it bolts to and you need to cut the rear tang Edited September 13, 2011 by Russian Hammer
stnls1911 55
http://store.carolin...sm-Saiga/Detail http://store.carolin...al-Stock/Detail ETA: If you don't want to cut your tang, you can use this block with the folding mechanism as well. http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/ak-universal-receiver-block-no-receiver-mods-p-359.html Edited September 13, 2011 by stnls1911
belbo 3
Does anyone know how much length the folding mechanism and internal block add to the length of the stock?
stnls1911 55
With the tang being cut and having the internal block, I would say 1 - 1.5" maybe?
