wolf_walker 0
I've been searching and reading all over for several days, don't hate me for asking. The CSS bolt on retainer, is it open at the top rear or with the ears to hold the heatshield on the later style synthetic handguards? Also, do they hold up to hard use alright? I see Dinzag who by all acounts makes top notch stuff, has a retaining set screw on there, I assume for a reason, is it an issue? Frankly I think I can drill and tap and make my own set screw for the sake of saving $40, but I figured I'd ask. The retainer from saiga-ak.com is also on my list and pretty slick looking, and it does have the tabs I see, but I'd rather not slot the barrel if I don't have to. Thanks for any info... SergeK 15
The CSS is nearly identical to the Dinzag. I just installed the CSS and I didnt drill anything. i just used a small/sharp steel punch to make a small indent in the barrel for the set screw. Shot it yesterday and it hasn't budged.
