SergeK 15
For the last 6 months I have been trying to decide which route to go with my Converted Saiga/AK74 Clone. Eventually, I decided to pull the trigger on the PK01. I received the sight on the third day and immediately went to town. I got it mounted in less than three minutes with minor adjustments to the mounting cam. Loaded it up with batteries and skimmed through the instructions (being Russian has its perks). After finger banging it for a few hours I put the rifle away. Yesterday I took it to the range. The second I took the rifle out of the bag and put it on my table, people started looking. It looked like an Authentic Russian AK74. After a few minutes, I got my targets up and started sighting in. Within 10 shots I was on target at 25 yards. Groups were very tiny, with the majority of the hits touching. Next relay, I took the target out to 50 yards to fine tune. Normally, if you are sighted in at 50, you are also close to zero'd at 200. Close enough to get a kill shot without having to compensate. Image: 50 Yard Zero off a rest. Image: 100 Yards Sitting. No rest. Once I was happy with the dial in, I took it out to 100 yards just to mess around with it. I was perfectly sighted and all 30 of my shots were within a 6 inch diameter Shoot N C target. I was ecstatic. Just to confirm the re-zero ability, I took the scope off, fired a few shots and put it back on. Was dead on. All in all, this is $300 well spent. May get another one for my next AK project.
TX-Zen 287
Great post! PK01-V like yours is next on the list for me after Obzor. I have the PK01-VS which is in the same family and really like it, other optics collectors I know also have the VA/VE models which are well liked. It seems everyone that has them thinks this new series of PK01 are well made and very functional. Thanks for taking the time to do your write up, it's nice to see interesting stuff getting good reviews. Z
topmaul 42
I have an old school PK-01 on my Beretta CX4 Storm Carbine and I love it, mine has the auto brightness control buy the way Klinka optics screwed me and I will never in 1 million years do business with them again. tbryanh 11
Will the PK-01 work on an unconverted Saiga. Eye relief is what I am concerned about. The stock Saiga buttstock is longer than the buttstock used when the rifle is converted to pistol grip.
