Cryogaijin 33
My S12 is a fairly basic conversion. It is pretty comfortable to shoot with normal strength loads, but I'd like to get it to the point where I'm comfortable doing a magdump with magnum buck. What is involved in putting a muzzle break on it? Any recoil pads work well with the t6 stock?
poolingmyignorance 2,191
The tromix break is said to have good results against muzzle climb. I've never tried it. And there is a recoil reducing AR style stock availble, do a search for it it's pretty easy to find. Oh and a good ole Limbsaver never hurts.
yooper14.5 84
Look into enidine buffers, they are amazing.
shades_of_grey 1,092
I have a Tromix Monster Brake on the S-12 I actually use, (other one is a 4-port '08 that's staying NIB till I decide what to do with it), and a 1" Ace recoil pad on a DPH stock. Recoil is barely noticable with birdshot and reduced by a good ~35% with buck/slugs. The Monster Brake is a big, heavy piece of steel, so I had Mike Rogers of Lone Star Arms cut my S-12's barrel down to ~13", thread it, install and then silver solder the Monster in place for an overall barrel length of ~18.2". It's extremely effective, but I don't know that I'd use one on a stock ~19" barrel.
netpackrat 566
Any recoil pads work well with the t6 stock? Limbsaver makes a slip-on pad for the AR that will fit that stock. I have one on a skeletonized stock that I built and it's a quality product, and has withstood several hundred rounds on my S-12.
