cvhanh20 1,052
Just wanted to let everyone know these are now avilable for backorder on the Chaos website. They will require some fitting, the front hole is not drilled but there is an alignment mark that makes for easy location of hole to be drilled. These are designed for 8" SBS.
Zombiehunter762 376
I need to get on of these for my RJF 8" SBS S-12. How much fitting is required?
RRice 34
I am in the same boat as 4layer. I want one for my Tromix S17 but how available are they and what does "fitting" involve?
TonyRumore 1,332
The Tromix S-17 8" hand gaurd and MS Auto's S-17 Tri-Rail is 4.34" long, whereas the Chaos Titan is shown to be 4.75". So your Chaos rail is going to over hang your S-17 gas block by a little over 3/8". Since the mounting hole is not drilled, that should not pose a problem, however, I have never seen one to confirm that. I was under the impression that the S-17 Titan was only going to be sold through Red Jacket. Tony Rumore Tromix
RRice 34
Tony, Good to know. I am considering one for my gun. My father in law,who shipped his gun to you today for a s17 build,is looking at this rail too.
cvhanh20 1,052
All the important fitting is controlled by the distance from the front of the receiver to the rear. We provide a milled line in the center of the rail, by simply threading a transfer screw or cone point 5mm or a 10-32, into the gas block with the point facing out then placing the rail in mount position, using something non-marring smack the area of the rail over the screw leaving a small centering mark. You now have your location, it's just a matter of putting in a hole and c'bore. We do put a small hole in for clearing the front sight in the top rail, but may need to be oped for different gas block locations, that's out of our control.
RRice 34
What does the underside look like? Does it have a hole so the screw that goes into the gas block counter sinks? Also, are these in stock right now?
TonyRumore 1,332
The centering groove machined in the hand guard is a nice touch, unfortunately the screw hole is not always centered in the gas block.
Mikedril1 3
Do these include the sights as shown?
cvhanh20 1,052
No.
Mikedril1 3
OK, so... how much extra are the sights?
cvhanh20 1,052
Our sights are 99.95 for the pair, but we have only one rail system left and after that we will not be selling them on our website anymore.
Mikedril1 3
I'll take it. I will call tomorrow, as your web site link to the Mini-Titan doesn't work.
