http://friscoblog.da...-north-tex.html

Officials with the DFW Gun Range & Training Center announced Tuesday that they will be building the region's largest gun range in Frisco this year.

The Frisco Gun Club & Academy, featuring 40 shooting lanes for the public and six private lanes for members, will be on the northeast corner of All Stars Avenue and John W. Elliot Drive near FC Dallas Stadium. The club, shown in a rendering at right, will also have a 4,000-square-foot retail showroom, business center and conference room plus an extensive academy. It will hold concealed handgun and self-defense classes along with other training and educational opportunities.

"With the facility's opening, we will provide Frisco and the surrounding communities with the total firearms experience," said Jim Pisoni, president of the DFW Gun Range & Training Center.

Ground-breaking is set for April on an initial 27,000 square feet. Once phase two is complete, the facility will have 35,000 square feet with a country club atmosphere and investments totaling more than $9 million. Officials say it will be one of the largest facilities of its kind in the nation.

Construction on the first phase is expected to be completed by December.

And darn near my neighborhood.

Here is what Jeff Foxworthy has to say about folks from Texas

If someone in a Lowe's store offers you assistance and they don't work there, you may live in Texas ;

If you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you may live in Texas ;

If you've had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed a wrong number, you may live in Texas ;

If the speed limit on the highway is 55 mph --you're going 80 and everybody's passing you, you may live in Texas ;

If you find 60 degrees 'a little chilly,' you may live in Texas ;

If you actually understand these jokes, and share them with all your Texas friends, you definitely live in Texas .

good to see some north texas peoples in here. but gun nuts aren't any good if they are just hiding in their shed's we need to get together to be dangerous. I usually shoot at the Great Southwest Gun and Archery Range in Grand Prairie. So hit me up I usually go during the weekends. But it's intermittent. Hit me up if you're in the area.

I'm no big fan of rap, but here's a pretty cool lil tune by Cowboy Troy

Texas

From the plains of Lubbock, way down to the coast,
the land that's filled with people that rock the most
proud people from Laredo all the way to Corsicana,
at San Jacinto they defeated Santa Ana

From 1836...to 1845,
for about 10yrs the Republic survived
with a solitary star in a field of blue,
everybody learned about it back when you was in school

It's the proud story of a land that's great,
it's the largest state in the lower 48
now Steven F Austin gets much respect,
cause he's the father of the land they tried to get

Proud men like Crockett and William B Travis,
others tried to take the land but they would not let em have it
the first elected president was named Sam Houston,
c'mon everybody get loose in...

TEXAS...it's a powerful thing,
TEXAS...let freedom ring,
TEXAS...like a yellow jacket sting, from the lone star state like Robert Earl Keen

TEXAS...flag standin tall,
TEXAS...ya need help just call,
TEXAS...Montezuma's hall, you say 'hello' we say howdy y'all

Now ZZ Top been kickin dust for years,
Pantera reinvented the steel in your ears
The Ghetto Boys been playin tricks on your mind,
and MC ??? been sickin your behind

We got Pat Green...and Ed Burleson,
Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson
Clint Black and Jerry Jeff Walker,
we all talk slow not one fast talker

You know I get down like Big Dane King,
I love to listen to George Strait sing
cause I'm just like Texas, don't mess with me...
cause if ya talk that noise you'll get dismissed directly

You wanna battle me you better be on your guard,
cause Cowboy Troy and the hicks will always be hard
We'll be harder than physics on a calculus test,
so when the battle is done Cowboy Troy is the best

Well I'll say I'm not the best but you know that I'm good,
and that's one fact quickly understood
it's a round one knockdown makin ???
last_man_like_Bruce Willis...

TEXAS...it's a powerful thing,

TEXAS...flag standin tall,
TEXAS...ya need help just call,
TEXAS...Montezuma's hall, you say 'hello' we say howdy y'all

brother, say howdy to my friends at UT,
cause a Texas Longhorn I will always be
and to the good ol boys in Houston I gotta say howdy,
even though every now and then they get a little rowdy

Best wishes to the cowboys that live in San Antone,
the ones at San Marcos, the ones in Waco
I gotta say hey to the boys in El Paso,
the ones in Texarkana, the Golden Triangle

to the boys in College Station, the ones in Amarillo,
the ones down in the Valley, and Midland-Odessa
ya can't forget Ft Worth...or Dallas as well,
the original address of the Hardwick Hotel

In the Lone Star State we got a country style,
even though every now and then we get a little wild
I'm a nice nice guy don't take no lip,
so the diarrhea of the mouth better quit

Cause I'll be on your behind like a pig on slop,
I'll make ya call me TEX just to make me stop
if ya keep up the noise you'll be gettin demolished,
I'll be kickin your behind till you make my boots polished

I'm in Denton right now, working at an outdoor range in Argyle.

But a couple years ago I was living in Pflugerville and worked at Red's Indoor Range at both locations.
Yeah, well, you know, that's just like, uh, your opinion man...

I'm right around Conroe.

"Gentlemen! I too have been a close observer of the doings of the Bank of the United States. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves. I have determined to rout you out, and by the Eternal, I will rout you out!" -- Andrew Jackson.
