Right now we have 2 seperate design teams working on this project & we will see what they come up with . Hope to know more towards the end of June we need to make sure the project is finiacially f

Was reading the news on Izhmash web page. Seems they are going to show (or have) a 9x19 export rifle patterned after the vityaz-sn.   A 9x19 vitz in the US would sell out on the first day for sure.

Nobody in Russia can understand why izmash is not doing saiga-9 as quick is possible. For last information it should come to our weapon stores in april.

You will be surprised but we still don't have civil guns in 5.45x39 in Russian, IZHMASH simply don't do it for us, all for USA's, americans buy everything and gives real $

I dont know how to describe in english what people are working on our weapon plants in management, they are so far from civil people and modern guns. "Stone Age in Age of laser rifles". For full understanding situation - situation is like company is still making casset players, when all other companys for a long time already making modern flash players, and the first company dont do anything for modernization, and thinking that everyrying is alright.

Previous director of IZMASH(1996-2011) was arested, he have stolen 159 275 000$ from izmash while he was working on plant. It's putins russia, stoling money from country is normal for putins goverment. Director simply have not shared stolen money with "goverment", that's why was arested. Zimbabve, Sir!

I will be selling a 9mm prototype if anyone is interested?

RJF is returning one of the pair to me. I'm pretty sure it will be the first one I made?

If it is, it will be this one.

I'll be gone for a week, but I'll list it on GunBroker after I get back

Wish I could afford to right now. I bet when that gets listed it goes for pretty good amount!

I concur. I am definitely interested, just couldn't afford what he would be asking....especially on gunbroker wacko.png doubt he's willing to trade too.

I've traded all my trading fodder for things I wouldn't trade. Lol!

Interesting - and looks like it's actually gas operated, not blowback, but I could be wrong. Typically the blowback-only AKs have only a gas piston stub, not a full piston.

Glock mags? Personally I would prefer MP5 mags if I was buying one, but I don't own a Glock, so....

metal glock mags? thats wild!! i think it would look cooler and possibly more functional with hk mags, but the y have a different lock up...

Vepr 9x19 had been released, but price for it in the Russian gunshop where it was found is about 1913$, hell and israel!

I can't find positive info on the real Vityaz, but the Vityaz magazines look identical to MP5 mags. The locking points are even in the same location. I suspect that the two are compatible, or if not, very close.

Another reason why a Vityaz would be great.. MP5 mags are pretty easy to come by, and cheaper than hi-cap Glock mags.

There is no more "IZMASH", it was renamed to "Kalashnicov", but plant now is mostly dead then alive. Saiga's are not making about a year.

"Molot" custom workshop started to do some carbines, but i think there are no a lot of them will be done.

Picture 3 shows most of it.

It looks to be blowback only. Looks like they made an all machined bolt carrier and milled the bolt face into it. That is a fairly easy gun to build.

The "piston" is merely a weight and guide for the bolt. The receiver is shortened at the front since there is no trunion, other than to hold the barrel and a bullet guide.

The one in the photo has a "safety sear" (auto sear here) as it has a third pin but no auto position.

I don't know why someone is not already making something like this here.. Atlantic, if you make one I'd probably buy it.
