h8mtv 0
This started out as a Butler Creek Mini14 stock. I cut a "tang" off a fixed stock from a Romy. I fitted the folding mechanism against the tang and used structural epoxy and 3 screws to join them. I am amazed how strong this joint is. I then drilled and tapped the top of the folding mechanisms "box" to accept a short machine screw so I could screw down the tang that extends from the reciever over the stock. I topped it off with a cheek pad made from some Ace foam and a little duct tape. I know, I need some black.
pistonring8 1
Looks great! Good ingenuity! Thats the kind of creativity I love to see on this site. I did that trick with a Remington Top Folder on my Saiga once. I always love to see something new and different, keep up the good work. Give us a range report!
Cobra 76 two 2,677
Nice work man! +1 on what pistonring said. Looks sturdy and you can fire with it folded. I think I would ditch the tape though.
BattleRifleG3 16
Nice project! Looks better than most folder options out there.

I think I would ditch the tape though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I am going to put some black duct on it. I does stand out with the realtree. After shooting her today I think I'll leave the foam on it though.
Crosshair 1
*taking notes* Slow down man. I'll have to keep this under my list of "Things to do when I get bored with my current setup". Nice job on it. Would it be possible to keep the pistol grip on the ruger stock for those of us with stock triggers and still have it work?
Wolverine 10,360
Nice looking set up. Clever use of mixed parts. Might I suggest you gpo to the local hardware and pick up some of the gray/black foam pipe wrap. It's the right diameter and it has self adhesive srtips on both internal sides of the the foam along the cut seam line. Just cut to length, pull of the sticky tape covers and press in place. Worls like a charm on my Ace metal stock. Tough enough to hold up due to compaction and yet soft enough to absorb the shock and save your jaw. Cost is maybe $2 or less for 8'. Try it, you'll like it. h8mtv 0
I actually tried the foam from the hardware store first. Having foam completely around the stock prohibits it from fully closing. I found some thick rubbery plastic tubing I am going to try on it. It is clear.
