vince1966 4
Hey guys, I am looking to buy some cracked, broken or destroyed Saiga 12 mags. I am a Mechanical engineer working on several designs for double stack mags for the saiga 12. I have 5 aluminum prototypes ( 6,8,10,12,20 round) that are undergoing testing. I do not want to tear apart good mags if I can help it. Mainly need the upper portions so I can model them into the computer. if your willing to donate to a good cause I can pay the shipping and a little extra for your time. Thanks in advance. saiga 12 power 31
If I had any broken mags I would gladly donate. I really hope some DS mags come of this. I know I would be first in line to buy many if the truly feed right without any problems
ChileRelleno 7,074
Just make sure you make'em with steel lips.
vince1966 4
The aluminum prototypes have an all steel upper with hardened steel lips. I have put 500+rounds down range with them. So far no wear other that a finish rub is noted on them. After measuring over 35 Saiga Magwells we have a good measurement to ensure proper fit. The added width of the mag body below the feed housing gives the mag a very solid fit, No sway or rattle. will post pictures after patent papers come back.
yooper14.5 84
Sweet! I don't have any mags to donate but I'm trying to make my own ds mags too. I don't have a working prototype, but I will soon.
inflightmissiletech 27
All right I can't take it anymore!!!! I NEED DOUBLE STACK. Who wants my freaking money!!??!!?? have you thought of the cost implications of aluminum? I think it might be better to used stamped steel or plastic, but I'm not an engineer. gunfun 3,931
Did I correctly understand that these would be magwell friendly? Yes please. Working with the JTE magwell would be loverly.
DontTaseMeBro 2
Did I correctly understand that these would be magwell friendly? Yes please. Working with the JTE magwell would be loverly. Check the vince1966's profile. First purchased a Saiga 9 days before this post. Sketchy. I wouldn't expect a DS any time soon. gunfun 3,931
I dunno, a vendor said we would have them in January a year ago. They've probably been around for a year and we just haven't noticed yet.
