Curtis 0
I bought one recently from a local shop, would like to change out the buttstock but I know it cannot fold or change length if I want to keep it up to Cal. specs. Anybody out there know of a decent mod that is sold out there in order to change the look but yet stay legal?
Kalash103 0
Have you looked at Arsenal/Kvar CA legal AK's? That might give you some ideas on what to do with yours. http://www.k-var.com/shop/home.php?cat=429 Edited November 21, 2011 by Kalash103

But want to get the ball rolling on my build, will look at them ASAP! Just bummed at the options I have, but I know that the market out there will work out the supply and demand thing on these for Cal. residents.

Joesmoe 14
You will be fine on length it's when you put on a pistol grip or a flash suppressor that you need a fixed mag, I suggest you check out calguns and look at their flow chart so you can keep it legal. bigj480 203
If I was stuck in Cali I would likely use a standard poly AK stock and throw one of of these on it so that it didn't have a pistol grip: http://www.solartact...-SERIES_c34.htm You also might want to check out calguns. Curtis 0
Man, I'm glad I don't live in Commifornia. Truth be told it's getting bad everywhere, I'll take what I can get for right now sucky as it is, I need my job and well to honest San Diego ain't that bad of a place. We have a huge Military presence that at least keeps the AR guys happy. "Colorado should BEWARE that Denver Police maintain they can SEIZE your house or your vehicle if they find a centerfire magazine in your house or vehicle that holds over 21 rounds of centerfire ammo !!!" Thanks for the link... That grip has me scratching my head? Is it legal? Edited November 22, 2011 by ElCajoia

Joesmoe 14
Yes the grip wrap is legal, it's what we call a featureless build, and with it you can use "pre- ban" more than 10 round mags.

Joesmoe 14
I haven't seen any at gun shows but I wasn't looking for one either, I just get mine from online shops.

That's DENVER, they have all kinds of commi stuff goin' on. And that is what they said about CA...it can and does spread! Sadly I used a kvar nato for my buttstock and am glad I did. The warsaw is just to short for my liking. Yes the grip wrap does "eliminate" the pistol grip and allow you to use 10+ mags you have owned. It is legal here in CA. I chose the mag lock because of ease and comfort with the PG. I have several 30 round mags that I have owned prior to the ban in CA. For shooting at the range I don't worry about having normal cap. mags.
imarangemaster 315
I actually trimmed down the Kydex paddle today. It is overly large. I will post pictures soon.
Joesmoe 14
I don't like the mag lock on a ak style weapon because 1 the grip wrap doesn't seem to effect the handling of the weapon for me and 2 if you go the mag lock route you can't use magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. With that being said we are getting real close to having the assault weapons ban overturned in California.
Curtis 0
OK...So far I went with "El Cheapo" quadrail ($40) as well as the detatchable scope mount ($40) from Amazon, and a red dot from Big5 (Barska m16) for $70. Headed to the range on saturday, will see if mount & scope hold target and will work on a stock change in the future.

Bigtwin 219
Very nice but I have no idea why someone would spend the money to limit a drum to 10 rounds in that configuration.
rrr70 5
Kalifornia legal AK47. No retarded mag lock, normal magazine.
ultimatetaba 1
All great lookin guns in here! And I've always wondered, regarding the grip wrap for featureless build, does it feel retarded to hold that in your hand?
rrr70 5
Not the most comfy way, but it's a way not to have maglock and use normal mags

Hey sorry for the late reply, thanks for the heads-up on Parallax Tactical, I heard of the place but had no idea that they had a Saiga on the rack there? That place was so close to the base I just thought it was all 223 stuff. Went up there and have to admit the store as well as the merchandise was top notch. thanks again.
