CSS Scope Mount

Recommended Posts

I have been lurking on this forum for a couple of months now and decided to share some info on a recent purchase I made for my Saiga 5.45.

A couple of months ago I purchased a 5.45x39. I found that while shooting the rifle was very fun it was hard to see the holes in the target past 50 yards. I wanted to get a good scope with decent magnification without it weighing down the gun so much that its uncomfortable to carry. Along with this, the mount had to be minimal to match weight requirements along with low profile as to not make an awkward shot (for me).

In looking for a good mount I found the Carolina low profile scope mount. While it looked perfect, there were very little reviews (hence my post).

Overall it is a very solid design, feels and carries like a well made piece. One and only gripe I have is make sure to unscrew and loc-tite all the bolts before taking out to the range. I drove an hour to a range and after 30 rounds the rail bolts that connect mount came loose and the scope was rendered useless. This could be my ignorance but I am putting this up in hopes it helps the next guysmile.png

Experience is something you get just after you need it.

I always carry tools when I go anywhere, I repair cooking equipment.

Hell I go to my moms, I have a tool bag with me.

I use blue lock-tight as well on a lot of things, fire arms as well.

Are you sure? Don't believe the tracking until you wait till today to get it. It happened to me. P.O said they delivered it, tracking said they delivered it, but they didn't (it was an order from CSS as well, maybe it's the click and ship system.). Next day they then delivered it to the wrong place. I finally got it two days later. Hold that frown until you know for sure.

CSS Trigger Kit installed. Must say I love how the trigger feels now. Much softer and fluid. The trigger guard is a very solid piece and makes the pistol grip install very simple. Only complaint is the video has you attach the grip, then the stock. This is incorrect, if the grip is installed first you can't get to the bottom screw hole for the stock. Make sure to install the stock first, then the grip. Save you a bit of time from taking the grip back off. Going shooting this weekend to test out the mod. Stay tuned.
